Art Education
A central theme in my art education courses has been “why art?” or, more specifically, “why teach about art?” And I think Who’s Afraid of Modern Art: Vandalism, Video Games, and Fascism by Jacob Geller, is a good introduction for people who genuinely question why we should care about art at all. Especially since most folks associate their negative feelings about art with Postmodernism. Even if you already have an appreciation for the visual arts, I highly recommend this video essay anyway.
